When most of you were still tucked up in bed this morning, I was heading down to Penzance to meet up with Simon (a regular client). It was nice to catch up over a coffee, then it was off to the crag. Simon said he was hoping for an easy day, so I suggested we head over to the little crag at Penberth as it would be in the sun all day and sheltered from the northerly wind. Another plus is that because the routes are quite short, we wouldn't be hanging about on a belay for a long time. We weren't disappointed. Despite overnight rain, the crag was dry and by the end of the day we had climbed 14 routes, the best of which was the underrated HVS graded climb "They Do At That Age". Its only got one star in the guidebook, but it's brilliant and definately worth seeking out. We also climbed two lines that aren't in the guidebook or the supplement, so I will be submitting the details to the gudebook writer. Happy New Year to you all.
