Finally, a day off! Thank goodness for that, is all I can say. I've been meaning to update my blog every week for the past 8 weeks, but somehow work just keeps taking me away from the computer. To be fair, I'm not really having a day off, as I'm busy catching up on all sorts of admin-type stuff that needs to be done when you are running your own business!
I last updated this blog at the end of April, so there should be lots of things I can tell you all but, alas, its just been a complete blur. Yes, theres been some climbing, but theres also been some coasteering, mountain biking, leadership training, guidebook work, working with school groups and a stressful week working with the youth of today (I must be getting old). I have been all over the South West too, from Lands End to Pembrokeshire, with visits to Avon Gorge, The Quantock Hills, Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor. I can honestly say its all been fun, even with this rotten weather. Typically though, it's sunny today...oh well.
Rather than try to remember things, I thought it best to post some photos, just so you can see a little bit of what I've been up to
I attended the British Mountaineering Council's SW Area meeting last night. It looks as though there will be some exciting things happening down this way over the next 12-18 months, including a Cornish Climbing festival, an International Meet AND a crag clean up. Not only that, but there's Barnaby Carver's Cheesewring and SE Cornwall guidebook due out very soon, AND the Climber's Club are in the process of producing an updated West Cornwall climbing guidebook, including a new volume on The Lizard, so keep your eyes open, your ears to to the ground!
